Both awards were for single molecule strategies for fracture repair (Nitric oxide) and for spinal fusion (rhBMP-2). His work using a recombinant protein CBT005 received the very prestigious Basic Science award from the International Society for the Study of Lumbar Spine (ISSLS) and is the key molecule being commercialized by Cartago Biotech.
